Other than getting us the little perks like discounted subscriptions to our favorite yoga magazines and apps that help us do our job...What does that mean exactly?

Well for one, there is a mindset shift for those that work at YSI. The primary objective isn't profit. Connie O'Brien is always sure to keep us aimed at accessible and available teachings; providing scholarships and affordable ways to participate with teachers and teachings.

Second, it means that fundraising is a big part of how we continue to do those things. We rely on donors to offset the cost and expense of running our organization.

The Teachers have said its important to learn and embody this text.

Digital scans of Geshe Michael's hand written notes.

Its sort of like getting your favorite rock and roll musician's set list after their concert. These are the notes that Geshe Michael wrote down when he first studied the Bhagavad Gita with his teacher.

Its like getting insight into the mind of Geshe Michael. What he saw as important. What inspired him as he was listening to his teacher pour the teachings of the Gita into him. 

These are the same notes that he used when he taught the Bhagavad Gita for the first time in 2010 for YSI. And, were carried with him until 2025 as he taught it to us this time around.

Not going to lie...some of the notes are difficult to read (and some of it impossible).

As the person who put this package together, I can say that every time I looked the notes over, a new passage or line jump out at me. It wasn't about reading the words. The words triggered the some kind of inspiration in me. Its not the clarity of the written words, its the meaning behind the words that brings you into the story of the Gita.

That same story that has been playing out in my life since I can remember. The same story that I wish to resolve in me, and in us.
