Homeboy Industries is the largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world. For over 30 years, we have stood as a beacon of hope in Los Angeles to provide training and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated people, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community.

We source our material from over two million pages of classic Asian texts, which our partners at the Asian Legacy Library have preserved and digitized. Together, our teams have taken painstaking measures to translate, understand, and apply the original yogic texts, all so that we could share them with you in a clear and accessible way.

THE OVERSEAS STUDY PROGRAM

UNDERSTANDING TEACHINGS
Scholarship to Study Classical Languages
We invest in students today to create the translators of tomorrow. OSP provides full and partial scholarships to students interested in studying classical languages, by covering the costs of travel, room, and board for a month at some of the greatest centers of ancient learning. We offer our scholars access to some of the best linguists in the field. Many of our alumni have gone on to become translators and foreign language teachers, passing on the knowledge of the great books.Â

- Support needs of low income communities through donations of medicine, clothing, and educational enrichment for children
- Support homeless animals and animal rescues
- Act as an incubator for Mixed Nuts Translators
Impact
- OSP launched the translation careers of half of the Mixed Nuts.
- Since 2005, alumni have taught hundreds of hours of language classes around the worldÂ
- Our fund has supported the medical needs of both young and elderly refugees abroad, as well as injured animals and a struggling animal rescue

SANTOSHA Village
Creating spaces where everyone, especially our most forgotten citizens, can have a sense of belonging, community and well-being

- Creating a more fulfilling life for ALL, especially those who find themselves in a cycle of poverty.
- Pada: A self care journal and life program - 100% of proceeds help the homeless. Buy it here!
- Santosha Village is a unique nature centered village of RVs, Tiny Houses and Yurts of about 40 residents, who pay a very affordable all inclusive rent and help maintain the village.

- Santosha Village: Campground, sustainable farm, transformational space
- Shala Housing: Affordable housing with all basic needs included in rent & community
- The Bus: A school bus that has been converted into a unique community center that is run collectively by the homeless
